The mission of ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Advancement at NC State is toÌýcoordinate internal and external communication to enhance the image of the university, to provideÌýmeaningful programs and services to alumni and friends, to seek service-support participation and ambassadorship from constituents, to build and sustain aÌýstrong volunteer leadership network, toÌýraise moneyÌýfrom private sources, to manage the collection of private gifts for the university, to manage effectiveÌýalumni and development databases and gift systems, and toÌýcoordinate with the General AdministrationÌýin areas of government and legislative priorities in Raleigh and Washington. The office oversees ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development, the Alumni Association, ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Communications and Marketing, and Advancement Services. Visit the for more information.

Advancement Services

Advancement Services supports the operations of Alumni Relations, ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development and ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Communications. The department oversees the alumni and donor database and works to process gifts and conduct research about potential contribution opportunities. Other initiatives include management of the university's online giving website; support of the Alumni Association alumni web portal; delivery of education and training in national best practices related to fundraising activities, ethics and accountability; and management of an international listserv dedicated to the advancement services profession.

Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving

NC State Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (AEAG) executes the integration of engagement and giving opportunities for the NC State community. Departments within AEAG include Annual Giving, Alumni Engagement, Communications, Event Experiences and Volunteer Engagement. The department also supports the NC State Alumni Association and encourages all NC State alumni and friends to participate actively in the association.Ìý

NC State Alumni Association

The NC State Alumni Association engages alumni and friends through programs and services that foster pride in NC State and enhance lifelong connections to the university. The NC State Alumni Association encourages alumni and friends to be Red and White for life throughÌýaffinity groups,ÌýregionalÌýnetworks, and the WolfTreks travel program. The NC State Alumni Association also supports the development of students, alumni and friends through the Alumni Association Student Ambassadors program, the Caldwell Fellows program, Career Services/Professional Development, the Student Alumni Association, and signature programs and events.

¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development

¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development works with the colleges and programs at NC State to secure private financial support for priority projects and programs. This support may come from individuals (alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends), corporations, philanthropic foundations, or other organizations.Ìý The mission of ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development is to strengthen relationships with alumni and friends and reconnect them with campus colleagues in their colleges and areas of interest; reach out to alumni and friends living outside North Carolina to carry the messages of NC State's progress, success, and vision for the future; and to serve as liaisons to universitywide programs to support their fundraising and outreach efforts.

¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development provides services to the colleges and programs in capital campaigns, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, and annual giving. ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Development also facilitates external and internal communication among fundraisers, and coordinates approaches to prospective donors.

¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Communications and Marketing

¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Communications and MarketingÌýbuilds positive relationships between NC State and its many constituents through strategic internal and external communications that convey the university's brand identity. The division is comprised of ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Communications, Marketing Communications, ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ Special Events, and Development Communications and Stewardship, and focuses on:

  • Increasing awareness of the university's distinctive benefits.
  • Ensuring consistency in universitywide messaging and visual identity by facilitating integration and coordination of public relations and communications efforts throughout the university.
  • Monitoring and responding to public issues and perceptions.
  • Providing marketing, communication and web strategy counsel and services to campus clients.
  • Providing guidance and resource assistance for university events.
