Agricultural Business Management (Minor)

The minor in Agricultural Business Management offers flexibility in combining foundational coursework in business and economics with applied skills relevant to agricultural production, agribusiness, and rural enterprise. Students pursuing this minor will be well-positioned for careers across the agricultural sector: from farm management and food systems to agribusiness consulting and policy. There are numerous opportunities to deepen your experience through undergraduate competition teams, professional networking with industry partners, and engagement with the broader agricultural community on and off campus.

Admissions

Students majoring in Agribusiness Management (11AGBAAS) or Agricultural Business Management: Biological Science Concentration (11AGBUSBS) are not eligible to enroll in this minor.   Admission to the minor requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better and the completion of ´¡¸é·¡Ìý201 Introduction to Agricultural & Resource Economics or ·¡°äÌý201 Principles of Microeconomics with a grade of C- or better.  Interested students should contact Dr. Julianne Treme no later than the registration period for their final semester at NC State.

Certification

Certification requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better in all courses taken that could be used to satisfy the requirements for the minor. Courses used to satisfy the minor requirements may not be taken for credit only. All 300 or 400 level courses for the minor must be completed at NC State. If transfer credits have been granted for such courses, additional courses will be required and must be approved by the Undergraduate Coordinator. The minor must be completed no later than the semester in which the student expects to graduate from their degree program.
