Concepts in biology taught from the perspective of civically engaging issues or problems. Themes and topics of wide interest, such as climate change, stem cells and cloning, antibiotic resistance, evolution, and human health. Lecture and the corresponding laboratory are designed to deepen an appreciation for the connections between science and "real-world" issues. For non-science majors.
