ECE 725 Introduction to Open Quantum Systems
This course prepares you to conceptually understand, analytically derive, and numerically simulate the dynamics of quantum systems under the influence of an external environment and coherent control. The materials of the course form the basis for conducting state-of-the-art research in quantum science and engineering with a variety of hardware platforms. Primary topics include quantum dynamics in the interaction picture, quantization of the electromagnetic field, density matrix and Lindblad formalism, Markovian and non-Markovian decoherence and relaxation processes, coherent control of quantum systems, noise characterization and mitigation, cavity quantum electrodynamics, representative hardware platforms and quantum applications.
