This course is designed to prepare preservice teachers to teach social studies and to lead to licensure in the elementary grades. The course is an examination of curriculum, instruction, and learning in K-6 social studies education. Emphases includedevelopment of the social studies; curricular principles and components; teaching strategies; and learner outcomes. Fieldwork in schools and related settings may be required in lieu of lecture on occasion. Students are responsible for transportationto and from their school based experiences.
Prerequisite: 贰尝惭听370, Junior standing, Elementary Education Majors
