This course engages with the artistic, literary, and archaeological evidence left to us by the Mediterranean societies of ancient Africa, including the classical civilizations of the Nile River Valley and North Africa, and the ways in which these societies are depicted by Greek and Roman sources, from ca. 2800 BCE - 500 CE.
