Exploration of many American "Souths" from Reconstruction to the present. How race/ethnicity, gender, class, geography, sexuality, and culture inform "Southern" identity; major political and economic changes; and the region's relationship to the nation and the world. Credit will not be given for ±á±õÌý462 and ±á±õÌý562.
Prerequisite: 3 hours of History
