Examples from finance and ecology as well as traditional science and engineering. Difference equations and iteration of functions as nonlinear dynamical systems. Fixed points, periodic points and general orbits. Bifurcations and transition to chaos. Symbolic dynamics, chaos, Sarkovskii's Theorem, Schwarzian derivative, Newton's method and fractals.
