Topics covered: ideals and affine varieties, the Nullstellensatz, irreducible varieties and primary decomposition, morphisms and rational maps, computational aspects including Groebner bases and elimination theory, projective varieties and homogeneous ideals, Grassmannians, graded modules, the Hilbert function, Bezout's theorem.
