MEA 499 Research Experience

An opportunity for students to earn academic credit for mentored research in the geosciences. A minimum of 45 hours must be completed for each credit hour earned. Students are restricted to earning 3 credit hours within one academic term. To enroll, the student must submit a completed MEA Course Agreement to the Director of Undergraduate Programs for approval before the start of the experience. Typical agreements include a workplan with goals, periodic meetings with the mentor, weekly written reflections, research notebook checks, and a summative report or presentation at the end of the semester.
