The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources offers a 15 credit hour minor in Forest Management that is available to all baccalaureate degree students at North Carolina State ¸£Àû±ÆÕ¾ except majors in Forest Management. The goals of the minor are to provide elementary knowledge of forest management, appreciation for the value of forest resources, and understanding of the need for sustainable management. The minor is particularly valuable to students majoring in related disciplines. .Â
Admissions and Certification of Minor
Students wishing to complete the minor in Forest Management should contact the person listed below to discuss the two options. Both options require FOR 172 and FOR 339. Option A does not require the summer practicum. Option B does require 9-hours of coursework during the residential summer practicum at Camp Slocum. For certification, students in Option A should see the contact person listed below no later than the registration period for the student’s final semester at NC State. Students choosing Option B must complete FOR 172 and FOR 339 before attending the summer practicum, thus should make their plans known before the fall of their third year.
