BCH 351 General Biochemistry
This course is an introduction to the basic principles of biochemistry. It emphasizes biochemical structures, properties, and functions, including enzyme kinetics and major metabolic processes. It can serve as a prerequisite for 叠颁贬听452 with permission of the department. This course is designed for those students who are not majoring in Biochemistry and do not require a more comprehensive introduction to biochemistry. It is not intended for graduate students. Credit is not allowed for both 叠颁贬听351 and 叠颁贬听451. Prerequisites required are 叠滨翱听183 and one of the two following pathways in chemistry: 颁贬听101/102 (颁贬听103/104), 颁贬听221/222 (颁贬听225/226), 颁贬听223/224 (颁贬听227/228); or 颁贬听101/102 (颁贬听103/104), 颁贬听201/202 (颁贬听203/204) , 颁贬听221/222 (颁贬听225/226). 颁贬听201/202 and 颁贬听223/224 are strongly recommended, if planning to pursue further biochemistry.
Prerequisite: Bio 183 and 颁贬听101 and 颁贬听221 and 颁贬听223; Or Bio 183 and 颁贬听101 and 颁贬听201 and 颁贬听221 or by department permission.
