History (BS)
The Bachelor of Science in History allows students to integrate a broad base in science and math with a history education. Students obtain both the analytical and writing skills that come from a history major and the technical proficiency that comes with coursework in a STEM field. This combination is very helpful in a wide variety of careers, including law, business, and public policy. This degree is particularly well suited for students transferring into history from a science or engineering major, or combining studies in a science or engineering discipline.
The curriculum offers flexibility in courses and electives. Students work with their advisor to design a concentration in a single area of science and technology. The concentration can be interdisciplinary, or fulfilled by a minor or a second major in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline. Beyond standard courses, there are opportunities for guided research experiences and professional internship.
